We've experimented with a lot of different containers and though a lot of them claim to be watertight, these actually are watertight. Simply locate where you want your fountain, dig out  a square hole 8" deep (be careful when digging so as not to damage pipes, gas or electric lines), place basin in hole checking for level, attach pump, hose  to bottom of fountain, lay on grate and you're good to start decorating with decorative rocks and landscaping.
